Expert Attic Sealing and Exclusion in Boston, MA

Attic sealing and exclusion is one of the most effective ways to stop wildlife from re-entering your Boston home. Squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, and bats are common in Boston and regularly exploit gaps in rooflines, soffits, gable vents, and eaves to nest inside attics. Boston's older housing stock, including triple-deckers, rowhouses, and wood-frame colonials, often has multiple small openings that wildlife find quickly. At Lighthouse Exterminators LLC, we start with a full interior and exterior inspection. We locate every active and potential entry point, from the foundation line to the ridge. Once animals are removed, we seal each opening with durable materials suited to the breach type. Chimneys get capped. Vents get reinforced covers. Gaps along fascia and soffits get sealed tight. The goal is simple: no new entry points left open. If you hear scratching in your attic or see signs of nesting, contact Lighthouse Exterminators LLC to schedule an inspection.

Attic Sealing and Exclusion FAQ

Common questions about attic sealing and exclusion in Boston, MA.

Yes, we seal entry points for squirrels, bats, raccoons, rats, and mice in Boston homes. Each animal requires a specific exclusion approach, and we inspect for all of them during the same visit.

Common signs include scratching or scurrying sounds, visible gaps along the roofline or soffits, and droppings or nesting material inside the attic. Boston's older homes often have multiple small openings that are easy to miss without a professional inspection.

No, we remove all animals before sealing any entry points. Our process confirms the attic is clear before any openings are permanently closed.

We inspect the full exterior from the foundation to the roofline, including vents, soffits, eaves, chimneys, and gable ends. Interior attic access is also checked for signs of nesting, damage, and active wildlife.

A thorough exclusion closes every identified entry point so animals cannot re-enter through the same gaps. We check for all active and secondary openings during the inspection to reduce that risk for Boston homeowners.

Yes, exclusion focuses on physically blocking entry points rather than relying only on traps or treatments. It addresses the root cause of the problem, which is how and where wildlife is getting into your Boston home.

We're so grateful our friends recommended Lighthouse Exterminators for our seasonal spray treatments. Dan is incredibly thorough and has made a noticeable difference in reducing the number of mosquitoes on our property. He's also been treating our yard for ticks, which has given us even more peace of mind when spending time outside with the kids and our dog. Dan is a pleasure to work with- professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. We truly appreciate his excellent service and highly recommend Lighthouse Exterminators to anyone looking for effective, dependable pest control.

Dan did an outstanding job on our mouse problem. He answered my messages right away and emailed a complete record of his findings. He arrived 10 minutes early and worked swiftly, finishing in about 30 minutes. He was very knowledgeable & explained his strategy to us. I especially liked how he uses non-toxic and less cruel substances. Dan continued to provide support until we verified the mice were completely gone (3 month guarantee). He came after the initial visit & helped us remove a mouse that we had trapped in our dishwasher & release it into the woods (to avoid killing it). That was exceptional! Lighthouse Exerminators also charges about half as much as the other vendors from which I requested quotes. Overall, we were very satisfied!
